By Kat Knuth, Longmont Newborn Photographer
Your favorite Longmont newborn photographer welcomed a baby girl this past fall! It was a very traumatic birth, characterized by not one but THREE epidural attempts before finally getting it right. So much fun. But once everything was settled, sweet girl made her appearance in less than two hours and only 12 pushes!
A few complications and a stay in Children’s Hospital later (yay ABO jaundice!), we made it home. Learning our new roles as a family of four was challenging and so, so wonderful all at once.
Of course, we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off at all without my parents stepping in to do all the things that make a household run. To thank them, even though it wasn’t nearly enough, I took some family pictures and treated them to dinner.
After I took pictures of them with my babies, I set up my camera with my preferred settings and coached my father to use it. As a Longmont newborn photographer, I definitely have my favorite settings memorized depending on the location and lighting! All he needed to do was point the camera at me, poke the LCD screen on the back of the camera to focus and press the button. Simple enough, right?
Well, he did great! I was able to edit the pictures in my newborn photography style later and this is what we captured together.
How beautiful is that?
